Learning with new methodologies

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Education is a key element to a progressive society, a healthy economy and a stable democracy. In order to achieve biggest possible benefit for young people, it is necessary to constantly renew the school system so that it fits the modern world’s conditions. SchoolsNext thus represents a network that brings together all the relevant stakeholders of the field of primary and secondary education, pursuing the common aim of improved education standards. Specifically, SchoolsNext aims at bringing together all parties interested in research and development in that field. It thereby fosters international research cooperation between research centres, universities, schools, national institutions etc.

Primary and secondary education comprises a great number of fields of innovation. SchoolsNext focuses on big clusters which in turn encompass a range of more specific subtopics. The most important foci are:

INTEGRATION

STANDARD IMPROVEMENT

COOPERATION & INTERNATIONALIZATION

DIGITALIZATION

HEALTH

ECOLOGY & SUSTAINABILITY

MISSION

Interdisciplinary as well as international research collaboration is key to achieving innovation and encompassing progress. Therefore, SchoolsNext pursues the target of interconnecting all relevant stakeholders in order to foster research projects and thereby generate increased quality and higher output within the field. Being connected facilitates the establishment of matching research consortia for either totally new project creations or in order to bring additional members on board of already ongoing projects.

SchoolsNext pursues collaborative research along a broad research agenda. On the one hand, the agenda comprises ever-present issues such as the improvement of educational standards and most adequate pedagogy and didactics. On the other hand, the agenda also includes topical developments which call for thorough analysis. Migration and integration of immigrant children, as well as multilingualism and multiculturalism within class make up an important topic in this context. Another example is ecologic and sustainable school design or the successful implementation of digital education.

The ultimate goal of the network is to positively impact the international society. Via effective research and development of innovative solutions education will be put onto another level in order to fit today’s needs and standards.
